I needed to shape some timbers for a boating project and found that this was just the tool to do the job with out a lot of fooling around. Handles very nicely and removes wood at a good clip. As it behaves differently at different angles of attack it is worth the time to practice on well secured scraps till you find your technique.
The instructions are well worth reading, especially if you like to keep all your bits and pieces where they belong. This tool deserves at least as much respect as a chain saw, maybe more as it runs much faster and people can get casual with right angle grinders. I have seen more than one person set a grinder down while still spinning, this one won’t be forgiving! Pay particular attention to the guard on your grinder and how it is set according to the instructions.
Chips fly a good distance, make sure you are wearing good protective gear including face mask, ear plugs and goggles, not just safety glasses. And be sure those around you are protected with goggles, etc.
Very pleased with the results using my 4 1/2″ Milwaukee grinder, would suggest getting a spare chain if you are doing lots of production work or need to switch to a finer tooth pattern.

I was at a gallery for an art opening tonight, there were beers being given out for free. 2 people were drinking outside on the sidewalk, i never left the gallery. I saw the cops arrive outside, ( through the window) take i.d.s from the people drinking on the sidewalk, then a cop came in the front door, motioned with his finger to me, ( the closest to him) asked for my i.d. ( i did not hide my drink, i’m 28 and inside right? he also never asked me to put down the beer. He did said as he took my i.d, that they do not have the licenses for us to be drinking in there. He returned a half hour later with an open container ticket, acknowledged chain saw art that i never stepped outside, but i was drinking in a “public Access building” When i asked about the rest of the crowd in there drinking ( we could see them through the big glass window from the side of squad car) he said if you bring me out some people with alcohol i will give them tickets. I kid you not.When i proceeded to question them about the legality of what they did (I.E.) singling me out and fighting only some of the crime and leaving the rest.) Instead of giving me legit answers, they stated “keep asking us questions and will just shut the party down”do you want that?no officer.two other officers explained to me on the spot, that it will be thrown out or ill have to pay $25.00. Unfortunately despite that being the exact chain of events I’m planing on losing, i mean look at this to begin with the system doesn’t seem too people friendly. Thank god this is not anything serious. So does pleading guilty or not guilty even matter? if so is one worse? might be stupid question but i’ve been smart enough my entire life to not get in trouble for things like this, so i don’t even know. Just fighting it to fight it is cool and all but since it is only $25 bucks ( or so i’ve been told) i’m trying to weigh my options before i enter.It’s in manhattan,i don’t think the cops show up.Not guilty is the way to go, just wanted to make sure its not worse if you plead that then end up losing.
