The Cairngorms is Britain’s largest National Park which opened in September 2003.

In October there is the world “Porridge Making Championships” in Carrbridge, Inverness-shire. There are also the Highland games which can be seen in many of the villages during the summer months.
The Cairngorms National Park stretches from Grantown-on-Spey to the heads of the Angus Glens and is easily reached by air either by Inverness or Aberdeen or by train directly into Aviemore. Those driving from Edinburgh or Glasgow can reach the Cairngorms National Park in just 2 hours.
